The Tri-County Soccer League began a few decades ago, formed by a group of fathers who got drafted into coaching their sons' and daughters' soccer teams with little or no playing experience.
They formed teams to "learn the game," have fun, and exercise. The League has grown from 6 teams in one division to many teams in multiple divisions.
The League is affiliated with the Illinois State Soccer Association. Per ISSA rules, only passed players are eligible to play in League competitive matches. The league's divisions have paid referee assignors for the league's competitive matches. Divisions primarily use FIFA rules, but with a few exceptions. Divisions may have playoffs following regular season games.
Our League is an amateur recreational league; no players may be paid and only a small percentage of our teams participate in outside tournaments. Further information on the league is available on the website.
